The upcoming BCPA 2025 Provincial Championship Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships will take place at the Christine Sinclair Community Centre in Burnaby, BC, on May 30 to June 1, 2025. With 251 athletes registered, this event marks our largest Provincial Championship to date. We’ll operate a dual-platform setup over three days, supported by over 150 volunteers and attended by more than 300 spectators. Given our membership is just over 700, this weekend will require all-hands-on-deck.

Weight Class Changes
According to BCPA Bylaws 15:10, athletes cannot change their entered age or weight class within 21 days of the competition. Athletes who fail to make weight will not be allowed to compete. This policy does not apply to youth division athletes.
Sponsors
We are looking for sponsors to support the 2025 BCPA Provincial Championships. As a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, we welcome both cash and product contributions to reward our athletes and volunteers.
As this event is double our 2024 Provincials registrations, we’re looking for ways to encourage, reward and incentivize volunteers for this weekend. Cash sponsorships will be used to help incentivize and reward groups of experienced, efficient volunteers who spot/load for multiple sessions. With such a busy schedule, and BC’s first dual platform meet, the BCPA is looking to recruit the crème de la crème of BC’s volunteers.
Why Sponsor?
- Feature your brand on sponsor banners displayed next to the competition platforms, visible in media coverage and live streams.
- Reach over 400 BC-based powerlifters attending the event.
- Gain exposure through our social media channels, including Instagram with over 3,250 followers.
If you, or anyone you know is interested in sponsoring Provincials please email [email protected].
Volunteers
We’re assembling a team of over 150 volunteers for this event. Roles include setup, teardown, and assisting with our first-ever dual-platform meet.
Volunteer Positions:
- Experience in spotting/loading is preferred, especially for sessions with taller lifters handling heavy weights. If you’re new to spot/loading, we can make sure you’re on an experienced crew to help you learn the ropes.
- Positions such as warm up room marshall, admissions, do not require experience.
- We will be seeking experienced announcers who are capable of being the speaker for two platforms simultaneously.
- We are interested in hearing from antimated, well-informed, experienced livestream commentators and DJs (think more DJ that you’d see on Twitch/YouTube, not at your Nan’s 80th birthday).
If you’re interested in volunteering individually or organizing a crew for a session, please reach out to [email protected].
